Best Natural DIY Deodorant Recipe

We’ve tried so many natural deodorants and found one or two along the way that worked fine, nothing spectacular.  Then we started hitting the kitchen cabinets and put together this recipe that literally takes less than 5 minutes to gather together and make and we really love it.Best Natural DIY Deodorant Recipe

The recipe is super fast and easy and it works better than most of the natural deodorants we’ve tried!

NOTE: You will sweat, but that’s great because it means the body is eliminating toxins.  So don’t fight it, just know that you can have good protection and keep from stinking.  This is the Best Natural DIY Deodorant Recipe we’ve ever used,  it works super well and lasts all day.

One last thing, we are strong believers that believe that because essential oils are powerful and concentrated oils that are extracted from plants, that it’s essential that those plants must be 100% Organic. These ones below are the only ones we’ve found that we feel good about recommending at this time:

Organic Essential Oils

CITRUS REFRESHER DEODORANT RECIPE

NOTE: We only recommend certified organic essential oils as they are highly therapeutic and concentrated. If they don’t say “certified organic” they are likely loaded with pesicides & herbicides. We added links above and below to mountain rose where we trust their quality.

Also, we also found another ORGANIC MARKET with great prices that we love what they are doing and have set up as affiliates with them. They also carry many of the ingredients we like to use as well.

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup baking soda (if you have allergies to this, you can replace it with more tapioca flour)
  • 1/4 cup tapioca flour
  • 12 drops of orange certified organic essential oil
  • 6 drops of lemon certified organic essential oil
  • 6 drops of lime certified organic essential oil

Mix all ingredients together in a deep dish. Smash and grind into a toothpaste type consistency. Store in an 8 oz glass jar with a lid.

Our favorite essential oils to use are wintergreen, peppermint, and tea tree oil, but they are hot oils and for sweaters, we would caution that they might not be such a big hit.  For us, they work great, but that’s something to consider.  If you tend to be a sweater, another combination we love is citrus oils, like orange, lemon, grapefruit and lime.

Being

healthy

isn’t a

goal.

It’s a

lifestyle!

Also, a little note on the sea salt we listed below as optional.  For more sensitive skin, it may be a little irritating, so we’d recommend eliminating it on a daily basis.  If you aren’t so sensitive, it’s great to add for additional exfoliation, which is a great way to eliminate bacteria buildup and odor.

That’s really all there is to this–it’s truly the best natural DIY Deodorant Recipe you’ll find!

Hi Lindsay – thank you for sharing this recipe. Will give it a shot! I’ve got sensitive skin and I struggle to find a recipe that won’t irritate my armpits. My husband just bought me an all-natural underarm cream called Lavilin (website: http://www.lavilin.com). He had seen an interview with a few firemen who experimented with Lavilin and loved it, since it is long-lasting. He did some research, and based on the ingredients, he thought it might be a good solution for me. Trying it for the first time today. Will let you know how it goes!
