Moom Natural hair removal review

We want to thank Ashley Elizabeth for such a great video review! Here is her Beauty Blog

Have any of you been looking for a good hair removal system that is natural? If so, we think you’ll like knowing about this one.

Ashley contacted us and wanted to do a video review for us. We liked her idea and knew nothing about this product at the time, so we were intrigued and decided to give it a try.

Watch what she shows and tells about Moom, an organic & 100% natural hair remover. She totally made us want to go get some and try it out ourselves! We’ll let you know our thoughts as soon as we do =)

Any Moom fans out there? Do you love it? Not love it? If so, what are your thoughts? We’d love to know. You guys are the best!!!

How to Get that Swimsuit Body & Keep it

Get that swimsuit body & keep it

Tiffany came soaring inside my house the other day, bubbling over with excitement. She had just purchased 2 adorable swimsuits and wanted me to see them. We had fun looking at them and ooo-ing and awe-ing and yes they were cute.

We’ve both been up to some fun things to get “that Swimsuit Body” and we promise to share more, but it basically boils down to a few simple changes that need to be lasting to “get that swimsuit body & keep it.”

Making changes is simple,

if you want it to be.

Just start

1 step at a time.

I recently was asked to do an interview with Lacy, from Lean Moms and I was so happy she asked, as I found out what she’s up to and we really love it.  Here is the Podcast Lacy posted. But another really cool thing, is that she has some fitness programs we really think are great.  In a recent post on her blog, she shared the following tips:

Tip#1

Make the moments matter!  If you’re taking the kids to the park, do some pull ups on the playground equipment.  Chase those kids around.  Make your body move!  Moving keeps your blood sugar stable and prevents weight gain.

Tip #2

Pick an outside sport you’ve wanted to learn.  I try to learn at least one new sport a year.  This summer I’m focusing on tennis, and have started taking lessons with my ten year old daughter.  Being active and learning a life-long sport is a great way to bond with your kids and keep you both fit!

Tip #3

Sign up for a 5K race with your whole family and then follow this protocol to get your ready to bust through the finish line…no problem!
5 Days A Week:
50m sprints x 10
200m fast paced jog x 3

Remember to stretch!

AND, we’re excited to hear what you are planning to do, beginning today… We can’t wait—please tell us below!

Tampon Talk on the News!

We got the word out in an awkward way today,Tampons talk on the air! Here is the clip:

Tampons & Pads are they safe

It’s actually a subject that should be of interest to every woman and especially teen, since warnings on the label actually state that those of the highest risk include teens and women under the age of 30.  We really appreciate KUTV’s Fresh Living Show for bringing us back, and letting us do a little tampon talk and share info on something that really matters to us all.

Check back on Wednesday for a YouTube Video Tampon Talk update and review on our favorite girly feminine products!  We’ll have lots more great info you’ll love to hear!

Natural Scrubs – who wants smoother skin?!

Natural Scrubs

Natural Scrubs – who wants smoother skin?!

Do you regularly exfoliate your skin?  That simple change may make a world of difference to smooth out the skin.  You can use a loofa or a scrub, or even both.

SCRUBS & MORE

A scrub can help a lot, just be careful of any Parfum/fragrance they may include. Although the make it smell great, synthetic fragrances can cause allergic reactions, like razor bumps and break outs, but studies indicate that they can be responsible for even worse problems, including neurotoxicity, endocrine disruptors that can cause reproductive organ cancers, and also contain pthalates (BPA), which is highly toxic.  We believe fragrance to be one of the more dangerous ingredients and highlyrecommend avoiding it always.

We’ve tried a few natural scrubs that we’ve really liked, here are our latest loves:

Simple Gift Farms – they use essential oils and all natural and organic ingredients and are amazing! They worked great and left the skin feeling wonderful.

Simple Sugars – this company just sent some yummy products to try. They are nice, and nutrient rich (just don’t eat the sugar! 🙂 But we really liked them too.

DIY Natural Razor Bumps Remedies, celulite scrub

L’or de la Mer Organic Anti Cellulite Body Blaster Scrub with Seaweed – Move over razor bumps and lets talk cellulite removal for a second.  This is a more agressive scrub, but a wonderful option for fighting cellulite and detoxifying the skin. It’s more pricey, but if those are the things you’re wanting, this is close to magic. It worked great!

Or, you could make  a simple DIY Natural scrub in minutes:

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil

Mix together, then spread on area and rub gently prior to showering.  Wash off before shaving.  By exfoliating the area, you can help eliminate excess dead skin that could be causing a reaction.  The salt in the scrub also aids an an anti-bacterial to keep irritation down as well.

As always, let us know how you love it!

ANSWER

Great question Kristin, and you’re not alone.  We work with a lot of actors, muscians, etc who struggle with razor bumps too.  We happen to have some great DIY Natural Razor Bumps Remedies that we’re happy to share.

SENSITIVITIES

People with curly hair tend to be the hardest hit, but we’ve found that people some people just have very sensitive skin or an allergic reaction that’s aggravated by shaving, and will always have reactions.  If this sounds like you, we always have to say, it may take medical help to set your body straight.  For others, the breakouts could be minimized or even avoided altogether by taking some simple steps to keep them down.

THE RAZOR YOU USE

Have you thought about your razor?  Believe it or not, it may be as simple as swapping it out to a new one or new type of blade.  If they are jagged or old, they can irritate the skin.  So changing out disposable razors often can be a good idea.  Also, a razor that shaves too closely can cause irritation for many.  We’ve worked with a lot of actors who need to use trimmers to shave, in order not to irritate the skin. Btw, we’ll add some recipes below with some affiliate links to some of the ingredients we trust the most and use ourselves.

Another thing, one way to get a closer shave is to pull the skin tightly as you shave.  But if you’re prone to breakouts, pulling the skin tightly may be causing you problems.  Try shaving without pulling the skin while shaving and see if that makes a difference for you.

SMOOTH THE SURFACE

Do you regularly exfoliate the area prior to shaving?  That simple change may make a world of difference.  Sometimes built up skin can trap the hair in the follicles, and cause breakouts.  So it’s important to exfoliate well first to smooth out the skin.  You can use a loofa or a scrub, or even both. Watch for another post on scrubs we love and how you can make your own at home!

NEUTRALIZE SKIN

You also could make a treatment to neutralize the skin with baking soda.

Mix together well and apply to affected area.  Leave on for a few minutes if you can.

TREAT

Make a treatment spray in a mini spray bottle

Fill the bottle with equal parts:

After shaving, spray onto affected area and smooth into skin.

Hopefully some of these suggestions will help.

Keep us posted on how you do, using these DIY Natural Razor Bumps Remedies, and feel free to share any of your own tips as well.
