Best Anti-Aging Home Remedies for Your Skin

Anti-Aging Home RemediesDon’t you wish that you were in the possession of a timer turner and just rewind the time when your skin was tight and healthy? It is an undeniable truth that people want to remain young forever. But, it is not just the natural process of aging that causes your skin to get wrinkled. Our unhealthy lifestyles have also contributed in speeding up the aging process. Most people do not know that they are surrounded by so many natural organic skincare products at their homes that can slow the process of aging, making you look young and radiant.

Here are some of the home remedies that you can try to make your skin wrinkle-free and devoid of fine lines:

  1. Apply Aloe Vera Gel and Drink Its Juice

Cut a leaf from Aloe Vera plant and gently remove the top layer. Scrape away the gel and apply it in circular motion for approximately ten minutes and then let it stay for a while. Wash off the facial mask with lukewarm water. This remedy is extremely beneficial because Aloe Vera contains malic acid, which maintains the skin’s elasticity by removing lines and wrinkles. Drinking Aloe Vera and honey juice makes one youthful. The mixture will remove harmful toxins from your body and keep your skin hydrated. Aloe Vera is also great for moisturizing the skin.

  1. Make Organic Face Wash with Rice

Ever wondered why Japanese women look so young and evergreen? It is because they use rice cleansers prepared with water or milk on their skin. Rice water is one of the best anti-aging agents. It contains lots of minerals its rich in Vitamin E that make skin beautiful. Cold rice water is particularly magical for regaining the tightened skin as it makes the aging process slow. Rice milk cleansers are loaded with calcium and vitamin A. Rice cleansers revive the skin and lighten the complexion too. Just apply the mixture to your face and rinse with lukewarm water. Do not forget to apply toner or moisturizer later.

  1. Papaya Mask

Papaya mask is an anti-aging agent. Papaya is full of antioxidants and vitamin A. It also contains an enzyme known as papain that consumes dead skin cells. All of these collectively work to improve the elasticity of the skin and restores the firmness. Mash a few pieces of freshly cut ripe papaya to create a paste. Apply the facial mask on your skin for 15 minutes and wash with warm water afterwards.

  1. Make Avocado Facial Mask

Avocado has oleic acid that makes the fruit a good moisturizer. It is also jam-packed with vitamin E. Prepare a facial mask by chopping half of the avocado fruit, add two table spoons of organic yoghurt and just one table spoon of wheatgrass juice. Make a puree of these ingredients in a blender and apply a thick layer on to your skin for an anti-aging home treatment. Let it dry for twenty minutes and wash your face with lukewarm water. The lactic acid contained in yoghurt will make your complexion lighter whereas wheatgrass juice is another powerful anti-aging home remedies that performs wonders inside and out.

But once we started researching what it takes to make the skin beautiful, we realized that many of the answers lie in indulging in superfoods. Yep that’s right. And by that, we mean eating them AND applying them to the skin. And many of those superfoods can be found right in your own kitchen. And pssst if not, you may want to start adding them, lol! 🙂

DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye

DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye – Here’s my shot at a fun little project. It’s simple, fun and does take a little more patience than the traditional dyes, BUT on the other hand, I’d take that in a heartbeat in order to know what’s absorbing into these eggs is actually good and very safe!

DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye

There are 2 ways to make these DIY natural Easter egg dyes come to life.

  1. MUGS: I made these ones by soaking hard boiled eggs in my dyes for hours, even overnight. I liked the speckled look it gave them. For this method, I mixed my dyes in mugs by placing 2 teaspoons of ground color (see below to see what you can use to make the colors) into the mug, add 1 tablespoon white vinegar, and enough HOT water to cover the egg. NOTES….with this method, make sure to hard boil the eggs beforehand.) , also Dehydrated “colors” that are finely ground will work best.
  • PANS: If you want to make the color more even or just want to color them faster, you can actually place your “colors” into small pans. You can use any of the “colors” fresh or in dehydrated powders (the dry powders work best usually). Add enough water to cover the eggs, and turn heat up to high. Add 1/4 cup of color, and 1/4 cup white vinegar, and boil away for about 15 minutes.DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye,make your own egg dye 2The options for dying Easter eggs naturally are huge. My rule of thumb is that any richly colored fruit, veggie, spice, garden flower or vegetation will work if it is rich enough in color to leave color on your knife when you cut through it.

DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye,easter egg DIY dyeHere are a few ideas of items that will make great color for your DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye colors…

RED – beets, beet juice, organic beet root powder, tarte cherry juice concentrate, cranberries, cherries, raspberries, ground annatto seed, saffron powder, ground sumac

BLUE – blueberries

YELLOW – turmeric, saffron

ORANGE – carrots, chineese star anice, Ground Korintje (Makara) Cinnamon, Ground Mace

GREEN – Spinach Leaves, Spirulina, Grape Leaves

PURPLE – Purple Grapes, Purple Pansies

Here is a basic color wheel. You can use any produce or garden vegetation with these colors or if you want more colors, you can mix them to get the color you want.

DIY Natural Easter Egg Dye, Natural Easter Egg Dyes

Just remember that red, yellow, and blue are the primary colors. So to make secondary colors, just look at the color chart and you can see that the secondary colors are made by mixing the primary colors on each side of it together.

SO for

1. green–add yellow and blue

2. purple–add blue and red

3. orange–add red and yellow

  • You can also use a wax crayon or wax pencil so kids can draw faces or names or cute designs on the eggs before they’re cooked
  • The longer you leave the eggs in the dye mixture, the darker they will be. Can you tell which one I kept in the solution overnight? lol! 🙂

We’d LOVE to see your eggs! If you want, post them to our facebook page, we’ve set it up so you can, and that would be a lot of fun!

DIY Laundry Soap + DIY Fabric Fresheners

Ok, maybe I’m just a sucker for great deals and saving money, or maybe I’m just a sucker, lol. But whether I am or not, I love sharing what we do to make our lives better, and think this post will make yours better too!

And so, are you ready for a couple of easy recipe + ideas for DIY Laundry Soap + DIY Fabric Fresheners? K, but first, please let us know how much you love them too!

DIY Laundry Soap + DIY Fabric Fresheners

Comment below…please! 🙂

Before I start, did you also know that fragrance is one of the most toxic chemicals in the products we use? Yeah, but it makes our laundry smell so fresh..but the other concern is how many people are walking around with dermatitis, eczema, and allergies who might be quickly relieved by making some simple and inexpensive switches.

I‘ve done this DIY detergent before (like years ago) but have been spoiled with buying the natural stuff instead of making it…  So back to brewing it myself I go!

Disclaimer! I am so glad I forced myself to make this, forgot how AWESOME it is, my whites are whiter than ever and it feels great to be efficient!

DIY Laundry Soap + DIY Fabric Fresheners

1 bar Fels naptha soap (ground up or graded)
1c washing soda
1/2c borax
Organic Essential oils for scent (optional)
Fill a 5 gallon clean bucket with 3 gallons warm water add washing soda, borax and essential oil to bucket and stir.
Separately Boil Fels naptha soap in 4 c water. Once nearly dissolved pour mixture into bucket and mix well!

Cover and set aside for 24 hrs. Don’t stir after the 24hrs, the detergent should “gel” up

When washing I use 3/4-1 cup of the solution.

Here’s my little extra tip:
Those of you that like scent, can add the organic essential oils in the detergent like above OR for even more….here’s my secret tip, which is MUCH better than using traditional dryer sheets filled with unhealthy fragrances that can irritate the skin and be an overload. So I take a clean cotton hanky and add 15-20 drops of organic essential oil. I toss it in right before drying the clothes and voila! The whole house smells amazing, but the clothes smell amazingly fresh too!! Here are three of my faves:

  • Organic Lavender – for bedding
  • Organic Sweet Orange – for a fresh invigoration
  • Organic Peppermint – for clothing I need to stay awake in (work & workout clothes)
  • Let us know YOUR faves!

NOTE: Make SURE that the essential oils you use are completely ORGANIC. If you’d like to know why, please head over to our post, Are Essential Oils Safe?

DIY Probiotic Shampoo Recipe

DIY Natural Shampoo RecipePIN IT!

DIY Probiotic Shampoo Recipe

We’ve all heard the value of probiotics in our diet, right (if you haven’t, you may want to start following us a little closer, jk lol!)

But YES it’s true, pre and probiotics are incredible boosters to our health. Science has also found them to be highly beneficial to the skin too. But what you may not know, is that they can also help enhance hair growth and even minimize hair LOSS.

So by adding probiotics to our hair, we believe it will not only absorb into the hair shaft, but will also enrich the nourishment at the scalp, where the root is waiting to be fed.

So here is a wonderful DIY probiotic shampoo that we’ve put together that will not only clean, but moisturize and nourish the hair as well. It’s easy too! Plus, we all want to save money, right????  But what if we can accomplish that AND also enjoy the bonus of knowing that the product we’ve whipped together is also safer than most of the ones on the market???  Hmmmmm, any takers?  We hope 🙂 Here is a for DIY Probiotic Shampoo Recipe that we really love and we think you will too. This shampoo is great for normal to dry hair and is safe enough to use daily, if desired.  We recommend changing it up with a safe texturizing or clarifying shampoo once a week.  If we get enough requests…we just might post one of those that you can make yourself too. hint hint…  🙂

To be truly beautiful,

be the kind of person

you want to be with

NOTE: Before we start, we strongly believe that ONLY 100% Organic Essential Oils should be used. Since they are extracted from plants in concentrated amounts, it’s important that they don’t contain any chemical herbicides or pesticides which can be highly toxic. Also because many companies package synthetic essential oils and call them “natural” “therapeutic” “better than organic” or “beyond organic” etc., we say, just be safe and refuse to use anything that is not 100% organic. As of this writing, these are the ONLY ORGANIC essential oils we feel good about recommending, as well as a few other items that we love from some of our other affiliates…

DIY Probiotic Shampoo Recipe

  • 1/4 cup liquid castile soap – this is one we like, it’s cheaper and doesn’t contain any scents to worry about
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon probiotic powder or 1 tablespoon homemade water kefir
  • 10 drops jojoba oil
  • 10 drops 100% Organic Essential Oil of choice  – see options below for oils that promote hair growth, or fight dandruff
  • For dry hair: add 1/2 tsp olive or almond oil (optional)

How to Make Natural Shampoo:

  1. Combine all ingredients in an old shampoo bottle or jar of some kind (pump soap dispensers and even foaming dispensers work well for this. If you use a foaming dispenser, add 1/4 cup of distilled water)
  2. Shake well to mix.
  3. Keep in shower for up to a month.
  4. Shake before each use.
  5. Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
  6. If you use a foaming dispenser, it also makes a great shaving cream- just dilute with 1/4 cup distilled water!

Here are some oils that can treat your hair therapeutically by promoting hair growth: LavendarRosemaryCedarwood
Some essential oils that fight dandruff: LemonRosemary, Tea Tree Oil

True beauty

is a reflection

on the outside

of what’s going on

in the inside

It’s super simple, takes less than 2 minutes to make and NO, we’re not gearing up for a water fight, lol, but for more hydration than your skin has ever experienced on a daily basis.

mac fix plus hydrating spray

This is actually something we’ve used for years to help rejuvenate dry, dull, or damaged skin on our actors. And personally, we’ve used it on ourselves even longer.

Even before we became focused on all things safe, natural and organic, we made this spritz and applied it to our actors’ skin after removing SFX makeup like latex or prosthetics to help speed up their skin recovery time.

So I think this little dupe we’re going to share is about to rock your sweet little world. That’s our goal anyway. 🙂

mac fix+ dupe

NOTE: As always, we like to help make that transition to healthy much easier and simple…so we’ve searched to find the best deals on quality organic ingredients for GREAT DEALS and found this ORGANIC MARKET that give you the freshest & finest ingredients at prices no one else has been able to beat! We love what they are doing and have set up as affiliates with them. So as you shop, just smile about the savings & especially the extra health benefits you’ll be getting! K, here goes:

MAC Fix+ Dupe in 2 minutes!

1 part pure vegetable glycerine
3 parts pure rosewater
3 drops essential oils of choice – refer to WHICH ESSENTIAL OILS ARE BEST TO IMPROVE THE SKIN to know which oils will work best for your own skin needs.

We usually use a little spritzer container, so this is the formula we use. If you use a different size spritzer bottle, you’ll need to adjust the formula. Also, if your skin is oily, it would be best to cut the glycerine by half.

Just pour the ingredients together and shake before use.

It can be used morning and night, especially in drier climates. I use 2 spritzes at night, over my hydrating lotion, and another spritz in the morning before applying makeup. It could be applied over makeup, but I feel like it makes the skin too glossy and works better under foundation to smooth it out.

To your ultimate health & beauty–take care of yourself naturally! We love YOU!!
