Life’s Laughs! The black eye irony :)

fRiDaY-fUn & fEeLiNgS  🙂if this isn't life, I don't know what is

Life’s Laughs!

YES, I did it–I got a black eye the other day!! A big shiner that still keeps turning bluer by the minute.

It happened when I was placing a decorative ceramic tile on a shelf above me and it fell and smacked into my cheekbone. Yes, it hurt like crazy but I will live, lol, and am so grateful it fell on my cheek and not my eye-yikes!

But (what I really wanted to share) if that wasn’t enough, I could hardly stop laughing when I looked at what was written on the tile, “Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”
LOL, somehow the irony just makes me laugh!!!

So to sum it all up……
It was Mrs Vukich, in the Entry Way, with the Ceramic Tile…..and if this isn’t life, I don’t know what is!

Stay safe, and don’t let any well wisher get in your way, lol, haha!

Hope quote, coming from the heart

I didn’t sleep too well last night–Tiffany & I have a wonderful friend (a hairstylist we’ve worked with on movies) who’s only son died suddenly last week.  My heart breaks for her and I wish I could just take it all away.

Yesterday this thought came to me and so, I had to share.  I know in the darkest moments of our lives, there’s always a light out there somewhere–it just may not be easy to see.  But no matter how hard life beats at us…we can always hold on to hope.

Here is a FREE Hope quote printable  that would be cute on a shirt, wall hanging, or a billion other things! Let us know what you plan to use it for 🙂

hope is not a wish, it's a belief

Have a wonderful week. Please comment, we’d love to hear from you!

My Perfect Imperfections

My Perfect Imperfections & Why We Started Nature’s Knockout

by tcorrea

We all have things about ourselves that aren’t so perfect, so when I got this tag that was started on youtube by Andrea’s choice, I felt inspired.  It was actually one of my most difficult imperfections that was why we started Nature’s Knockout!  I’ll explain more in this video.
One of our favorite quotes is by Sandra Bullock…”it’s you’re imperfections that make you beautiful.”  LOVE IT!!

Of course at first, it’s so easy to see our own imperfections, so that’s where I started and almost didn’t end!  But the response from you was wonderful, and all in all, I’m grateful for the perfections and imperfections that make me the person I am.

Say LOVE – Behind the scenes

Say Love…I can’t think of a better name for this song by Hilary Weeks, and not only because it explains the song so well, but because it also explains Hilary so well. Every time I work with her, I have the most inspiring experiences, and this music video was no exception.

I had literally stepped off a plane, coming home from a shoot in Seattle, when I got the call. It was a hurried, “We’re shooting a video of Hilary’s new song on Saturday, can you do her makeup, hair, and wardrobe?” Even though it was only 2 days away, it didn’t really matter.  After my experiences with Hilary, I would be sure to make it happen, no matter what.

Hilary is shorter than me, but we have similar builds, and I knew what colors and styles would make her come to life. Since they happened to be in my wardrobe studio, I had her come over the next day. We did fittings and pulled together some fun options for the shoot.

Hilary Weeks, Say Love

On Saturday, I showed up at the location, without any idea of what we were going to shoot. I hadn’t seen or heard the song, and hadn’t been given a script. Hilary showed up and we got her glitzed and glammed for the first set-up. I always love working with her because she is so fun, appreciative, and just radiates a special light that makes you want to be around her.

Other than that, I had no idea what the shoot would be about. I thought maybe they were hungry for ideas when they started shooting paper airplanes at Hilary, and then framing her with a bunch of dangling airplanes. But I was having fun, so whether I understood where we were going with all those planes or not, didn’t really matter to me at the time.

Then we went outside, and found a bench for Hilary to sit and write nice affirmations on the airplanes. Interesting, I thought, still unsure of where we were heading.

Next, we climbed to the top of a parking garage, and Hilary was given a box of paper airplanes to shoot off the roof.

Then, the sweetest thing happened. Two little girls below saw the airplanes and ran over to them. Unaware that we were above them, watching their reactions, they picked up the planes. One of them noticed the writing, and showed the other girl. Excited, they ran it to their car to show their mom, dropping the blank planes behind them.

Hilary WEeks, Say love

We watched in awe, and sadly didn’t get it on tape. But Hilary was thrilled and I was deeply moved. This was what this song was all about. It was pure and sweet, and a spontaneous reaction to kindness and love. Those girls felt it, and we each did too.

Hilary has struck again. She has a wonderful way of touching hearts, and moving us to action. Enjoy her new song, and know that the story behind the video was as real, genuine, and authentic as it could possibly have been. Again, I feel honored to have had a glimpse of a very tender and sweet behind the scenes experience. There is goodness in this world, and it’s based around love. Say love, it makes a difference!

I love you each, because you are incredible!

Please share your thoughts–we love it!  🙂 Have a beautiful day!!

Laugh more – it’s good for you!

for every 15 seconds that you laugh, it adds 2 years to your life!

This photo was taken on a movie we were working on that happened to have a scene in the Men’s bathroom. I’m not really promoting bathroom humor, lol, just the fact that it’s a wonderful thing to see smiles on so many faces.

Anyway, back to the facts…pretty cool, huh?  🙂

So wait. Every time you laugh for 15 seconds it adds another 2 days to your life? Just think about that – wow!

My husband didn’t believe me about this, lol, but tstudies performed at the University of Chicago showed that when a person has a great sense of humor, it can add 8 years to their life. (And btw, I’m not just glorying in the fact that he was wrong, I would never do that. Ok, well maybe not! Jk!)

Life is better

when you’re

And did you know that if you laugh 15 minutes, it equals 2 hours of sleep, in terms of the healthy boost it gives to the body? Yep, cool 🙂

Besides all that, stress hormones drop, we feel better inside and out, blood pressure drops, the heart, endorphins release and numerous ailments improve.

Another thing to love and write home about…did you know a 15 second hard belly laugh can tighten your stomach and also burn off 1 calorie per minute??? Or that laughing 100 times equals 10 minutes of rowing?

Another study performed by German Psychologist, Dr. Michael Titze, showed that people in the 1950’s laughed an average of 18 minutes a day…and sadly that # has changed. Today, it’s down to 4 – 6 minutes a day–oh yikes, ugh! :(..

hmmm, so WHY are we so serious???? And why don’t we just laugh more???? Isn’t it a good time to change that? …

We just need a very easy subject to start with – hmmmmm, that’s actually a lot easier than it seems. How about we start and just laugh at ourselves, first. Admit it, we all do less than brilliant things all of the time–wouldn’t the world be a much brighter place if we just broke out laughing at all the ridiculous things we do every day?!! And think of what a huge relief it would be too.

Anyone game?

If so, please share your commitment to laugh more, or better yet, share a favorite joke, a funny story, or whatever you want that brings a smile to your face! We can’t wait to hear what you have to say 🙂

You guys are the best — now go laugh and you’ll be even better, lol! Love you! <3

Reasons to Laugh

Reasons to Laugh

If you’re in the mood for a good laugh–here’s a true story I couldn’t keep to myself!

Reasons to Laugh

Sometimes you just need to find reasons to laugh! And sometimes they come much easier than others, but either way…just go for it–you deserve it!  🙂

This is a picture of me with my mom. And here is a funny little story about them…

The other night, we were visiting with my parents.

Out of the blue, my dad said, “Mom has been going commando”

…uhhh–what in the world?!!

Yeah, it seemed like a randomly weird thing for him to share and something we really didn’t want to hear or visualize, eek!
Sooo, we asked

“Why she was going commando?”

and he said, “she stopped wearing her wedding ring”

ohhhhhhh Dad, whew!

So, we straightened him out and yes, he was pretty embarrassed to learn there is a huge difference between not wearing a ring and going commando.

Hahaha!! My dad is the cutest–I love him so much! This is a picture of my brother, Vaughn, my dad, and me while they were extras on a film that Tiffany and I were working on.

Anyway, I’m blessed to have such wonderful parents to tease, and who always know how to brighten any day!

PS Mom, please start wearing your ring again, we don’t want to visualize you any other way,
I love you two, lol!!!
