We kind of set you up, lol! 🙂 Not really, but we mentioned in our Homemade Broth post that we would be happy to share a recipe for some yummy Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup and you bit! (or slurped?!)
Anyway, we heard from many of you, requesting more soup recipes from homemade broth…so we want you to know that we hear you and care about what you are asking. So of course, here ya go…and oops, just so you know, many of the items in this recipe can be found locally, but we’ll add links to some of the harder to find items. These are affiliate links, but we have very strict standards, so if you ever see us link to an item, it’s because it has passed our test and we feel confident about sharing it with you.
Some of our viewers were surprised that we aren’t vegan. We once were, but our focus has always been on eliminating as many chemicals from the diet as possible. We started to have problems with B12 absorption and studied it out and felt that the best thing for us was to add in some meats, as long as they were completely organic and not raised on GMO corn or soy.

Making that addition has been really positive for us, but for some people, their bodies do better without. Listen to your body and give it what it needs. For us, adding real homemade broth has been an incredible find, with some really amazing benefits and results we can actually see and feel. My number 1 test is whether my R.A (rhuematoid arthrits) feels better–and that answer is YES, very much so. With that, we believe we have found something that our bodies are thriving on!

Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup
- 1/2-1c pre shredded cooked chicken
- 1 serving cooked organic brown rice or organic quinoa
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 handful of cilantro, hand shredded
- 2 cups homemade chicken broth
- Pink Himalayan sea salt and freshly ground organic peppercorns to taste
