We get asked for recommendations all of the time and we love to share. So for those of our loves out there who are struggling and want some natural remedies for dry hands, this is a post your hands are going to love! So let’s go…

One of the first things we’d recommend is to switch out all of your soaps and shampoos with any type of sulphates or fragrance.  Most commercial soaps also tend to be extremely drying too. Those strip the natural oils and can cause dryness and irritation.

We actually pack around purse size bottles of “safe” soap everywhere we go, so we never need to use those industrial strength chemically laden soaps lurking everywhere.

Here are some other natural soaps we feel are great safe options:

  1. Olive Oil Soap
  2. Shea Butter Based Soap
  3. Herbal Soap
  4. Sea Salt Soap

And remember that water itself is very drying, so right after you wash, quickly hydrate with a safe hydrator as soon as you can.

Look for lubricating moisture creams that are free of petroleum, fragrance, and paraben.  Some wonderful hydrators include shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, and vegetable glycerine.

Natural Moisture Creams we love:

  1. Naked Bee
  2. Weleda
  3. Olive Essence
  4. Burts Bees
  5. Hand & Cuticle Healing Salve

Also, did you know that you can wash your hands with pure coconut oil?  Seems weird, but it’s true.  It’s an emoliant, and lifts the impurities from the skin.  Just apply it by rubbing it all over. Remove with a dry cloth. And btw, no water needed. 🙂

One more thing – make sure you are getting 2 tablespoons of Healthy Fats in your diet every day!

Words of warning…if your problem continues to persist, you could be fighting some dermatitis or eczema which might be an outward sign of food allergies or intolerances and may need medical attention.
